#1 Use drawer dividers

In a nursery every inch counts. If you’re trying to find space saving ideas for the nursery, using drawer dividers may be a great idea.
You can use small bins or actual drawer dividers in order to maximize drawer space. These ones are all the same size (& come in multiple colors), if you’re inspired by the picture above.
You’ll also get a bird’s eye view of every in the drawer, which will help you grab what you need quicker.

#2 Utilize baskets and bins

In our small space, we utilize decorative baskets for everything- including the nursery.
You can use decorative baskets right on the floor. Roll up baby blankets, stuffed animals, books and toys.
You can also use baskets and bins on closet shelves to store clothes, blankets, shoes and more.
#3 Under crib storage

If you’re working with a smaller space, you’ll have to get creative with your nursery storage ideas.
Storing items under the crib is a great idea, because it’s an unused and unseen space. Use a crib skirt and everything you have under the crib will be hidden.
Pro Tip: You can keep everything extra organized by using a shallow storage bin that glides underneath the crib.
#4 Over-the-door storage rack

I’m obsessed with these over-the-door storage racks that you install on the back of a door.
You can use it on the nursery door or baby’s closet door. It holds so much stuff and it’s such a great use of space, especially if you have small nursery.
#5 Use a 3-tiered rolling cart

I’m in love with my rolling carts. I use one in my office, my daughter uses one in her room as an art cart, and we used one for the baby room as well.
You can use these rolling carts to store extra diapers, wipes, baby blankets and more.
#6 Make use of vertical space

Utilize the vertical space in your nursery by adding storage areas on the nursery walls.
I’ve seen people use peg boards above the changing table and open shelving to store books, toys and pictures.

#7 Perfect your Marie Kondo folding skills

The secret to an organized nursery dresser is to perfect your folding skills. You can either choose to roll clothing or use Marie Kondo’s folding method.

#8 Use double duty furniture
Use furniture that serves as double duty. For example, using the top of a dresser as your changing station is a great idea.
You can also use a storage ottoman as a toy box, which can double as a reading nook or seating as baby grows up.
#9 Store away small clothes
Baby clothes can get overwhelming quickly, especially once your baby starts growing out of them (which also happens pretty quickly).
Set yourself up with a system to organize and remove outgrown baby clothes on a regular basis to avoid the overwhelm.
I personally have a “too small” basket right in my daughter’s closet. When I’m putting away laundry I can simply throw in clothes that she’s grown out of right away.
Then every month I add the outgrown clothes to bins to store away in our basement.
These space saving nursery storage ideas will help you find a place for everything you need for baby. Regardless if you’re working with a small nursery or not, these baby room organization hacks should be helpful to you!
